In those days she was known as sweet, dutiful, and quiet, a child who smiled easily and rarely raised her voice. But when her mother ascended the Iron Throne in 131 A.C., everything changed. With Rhaenyra I crowned and Jacaerys named Prince of Dragonstone, Vellena stepped into her own heritage. She began to wear deep crimsons and rich blacks, the colors of her house, the colors of fire and blood. Her hair she left loose more often, cascading down her back like molten silver.
