My husband went to therapy, his 3rd visit she started talking to him about how if he changed therapists they could see each other out of the office. He was there to work on some issues that were causing problems in our relationship.

As a therapist, I’m just going to be blunt. What the fuck is this?! I think out of all my years of being a therapist, I had to cancel my clients ONCE (and it was bc my exam board test got scheduled last minute). Second, I was literally taught this: are you talking about yourself because it’s going to be helpful for your client, or do you just want to talk about yourself just to talk. That has stood with me.
