When i went there a year ago, there were security who wouldn’t let you go to the ferry unless you buy their expensive tickets.

i say going to the statue of liberty/ellis island is worth the money, especially considering that you’re “paying” for admission at two museums, audio guides at both, the boat ride, and ranger tours.
