for me, just not worth as an upgrade from old pc (cpu of 2013), with the idea of playing with it for the next 5+ years. when my current pc can somehow run monster hunter wilds with upscaling on 4k. So i wait 2years but than get the Xbox probably

Nah it's straight up stupid. if you would have gotten the 2 tb version with a controller for 1000 bucks it would have been a revolution pushing steams ecosystem and their decades long plan of preparing linux to take over gaiming but instead oft targeting console players and PC gamers who want a couch console they opted for a small nieche oft something in between.

Honestly, I don’t really see how consoles are a better deal than this? Once it’s actually in people’s hands and can be properly benchmarked, if it can run the same as base PS5, then you’re going to just save money on games and subscription service. Plus if ram and other part prices drop, they’re probably gonna drop the prices on the Machine too. But like one summer sale and you’ve saved so much on games that I don’t really see the difference. Plus is PlayStation or Xbox raise their subscription prices at any point then the consoles are even pricier

Imma just say, if this was valve trying to be in more living rooms this holiday season, they just tripped at the starting line. Sony and Microsoft are probably laughing like maniacs considering for $1,428, you can get either PS5 pro or Xbox series X 2tb, a xtra controller, subscription service, and games compared to just a “console, controller, and 2tb storage.”
