I hate when people say "are you not too old to be a fan of boybands?" 1. I am 28, that's not old 2. Many of the groups I stan are older than I am 3. Why does age matter? whether they are younger than me does not make me appreciate their music any differently

I was talking about BTS at my new work and 3 other girls had hidden love for kpop. someone else saw the stray kids sticker on my water bottle and had them on a playlist, why hide what you like to listen to

Being an older kpop fan you find no one gets it, they think because they’re a grown up they can’t be into bands anymore, like they’ve forgotten the joy of it all.

I was a teenager in the 90s and remember girls screaming at Take That and Boyzone etc. to be fair my friends (now in 40s would probably like K-Pop). My friends daughter is massively into K-pop demon hunters so I’m being a very encouraging auntie 😂😂

Not only do I have to content with 'what's with all this Korean music' but also the ageism - I am 56 years young. I have gone from being embarrassed about it to being very proud. If they don't get it then they're the ones missing out.
