@vicblends: I am an author 🙏🏼 For the last 2 years I have been working on one of my greatest accomplishments, writing my first book. Being an author has been a goal of mine since I was a young teen, books influenced me early, helping me develop my mindset and emotional awareness. I got this note in my phone from 2017 when I was making a goal sheet and one of them was to write half of my autobiography that year, I was just about to graduate high school, I was way ahead of my own good little did I know life was just starting 😂 I’ve been in search of my purpose since I was 14. I wouldn’t fully discover mine until the day I picked up a pair of clippers. Barbering was a job I felt most would overlook, you’d call it ordinary work but I’m a believer that ordinary work, can lead you to a life of extraordinary purpose. I wrote this book for many reasons, some of you may know but in 2023 at the height of my career taking off I went through a serious mental health crisis and was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 disorder. I went through an extreme manic episode, followed by a deep dark depression. From losing my mind, to losing everything I loved I didn’t know if I truly wanted to be here anymore. Amongst all the things I had to do there is one rule that got me through everything, and thats to Stay Planted. This is more than a book title. It’s a reminder that no season in life will last forever. A tree will stand tall through all 4 seasons, Summer is great, everything’s green and amazing. Fall looks different, colors are changing, you’re changing. Then winter comes, and a tree will lose all its leaves. From the outside you look dead, it’s cold out, everything’s gone. But underneath, that tree is still Planted, and as long as your roots never come out the ground, guess what? Spring will eventually come and you will grow again, but this time even stronger.
