Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. It took about 10 months after my gallbladder removal for them to figure it out. My pain was in the same exact place as yours.

I have been an OR nurse for 40 years. Never have I ever heard of or seen a polyp on a gallbladder after-seeing thousands of gallbladders. Sounds like you have a stone in your cystic duct? Good luck to you.

Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction (SOD) see if this is what you have. Took 20 years to find out what my pain and nausea was after my gallbladder removal. I was finally diagnosed with SOD. Mention it to your gastro. Hope this helps. Sending good thoughts and prayers

GI NP here- bile acid sequestrants may help! Also recommend colonoscopy and gastric emptying study! Possibly related to intermittently passing stones and possible pancreatitis episodes? I'd cut out fat as much as possible and trend symptoms. Also a HIDA on someone without a gallbladder is interesting!!!

Lost my gallbladder at 16. 40 years ago. It will get better. Take your ox bile pills. Stay away from foods that cause excessive bile and dumping.

You can still get stones in bile duct without a gallbladder. That can cause pain. It took me about 3 months post surgery to stop feeling nauseous all the time . Apparently while my body was learning how to deal with the bile .

sounds like pancreatitis. Everything you've described is just what I went through after having my gallbladder out. It's been 13yrs now and I have chronic pancreatitis. It flares up every once in awhile without warning.

I had gallbladder surgery and had severe bile reflux after. I tried meds that weren’t helpful and a nurse friend told me to try Voquezna. I’m on it now and it’s helped so much with the bile reflux. I wish I could’ve kept my gallbladder, but I did not have a choice

So severe pain is wild without your gallbladder because that’s what i have with my gallbladder. Exact pains with under sternum and back pain. So i feel like you’re having phantom pains.

I went through this for a long time and had my gall bladder out and still suffered. I am wonder if they check your pancreas. You can have “pancreatitis” attacks that feel like it is your pancreas and just isn’t. I have them a lot

Sounds like you may need to see a new GI doctor. Are you anywhere near a teaching hospital?

it sounds like part of the pain could be gastritis, especially if it comes with food. You can try diet change or medication

This is me right now after surgery I get so much anxiety and I’m starting to think maybe the surgery was a mistake because I feel worse but at that point when I went to to the ER it was an emergency surgery situation 😭
