Lemme share my piece on the GOAT debate between Messi and Ronaldo.If you determine how great a player is using the trophies they have won you’ve zero football knowledge🤢.Both have crazy trophy hauls and they proved they can win at club and international level.But the trophies dont make them great because they were already considered generational talents before most of those trophies .What actually makes each one of them great is the consistency in 15 years + to be able to score 40-50 goals a season thats never been done.If you took all their trophies away,people can still call them all-time greats because of what they did on the field week after week.Trophies just prove they did it with great teams too.My take,trophies confirm greatness,they don’t create it.The trophies just make the argument impossible to ignore but i don’t believe there was ever a GOAT debate because it’s high time we appreciate to experience 2 best players at their prime at the very same time.If you don’t agree with me go argue with your ancestors
