@scotlandswild: One of our favourite spots in the North of Scotland, and a key stop on the NC500! Smoo Cave is one of Scotland’s most unusual natural landmarks, a huge sea cave formed by both the ocean and a freshwater river. Located on the north coast near Durness, the cave’s entrance is massive, carved out over thousands of years by the sea, while inside, waterfalls and underground chambers were shaped by flowing freshwater.
