5 things you need to know before visiting Yasawa Islands, Fiji 🇫🇯🏝️ ⛴️ How to get there You should fly to Nadi International Airport and then take a ferry to the Yasawa Islands from Port Denarau Marina. I personally booked my ferry pass and accommodation package from @yasawaadventuresfiji. ⏱️ How long to stay I recommend choosing about 2-5 different islands and staying anywhere between 1 and 4 nights on each, depending on the size of the island, activities available, and how long you want to spend (relaxing) at each resort or homestay. I stayed 2 nights at Blue Lagoon Resort, 2 nights at Barefoot Manta, 1 night at Barefoot Kuata, and 1 night at South Sea Island. Especially at the first 3, I could’ve easily stayed for longer! 📆 Best time to visit The best time to visit is the dry season from May to October, when it’s sunnier and less rainy. You also have the chance of seeing manta rays, as it’s manta season. 🗺️ Things to do 1. Snorkel coral reefs from the beach 2. Snorkel with manta rays (May-October) 3. Visit the Sawa-i-Lau Caves 4. Relax on the beaches around Blue Lagoon 5. Hike for island viewpoints (Nacula Island or Waya Island) 6. Snorkel with reef sharks 7. Visit a traditional Fijian village 8. Go scuba diving (eg, with bull sharks) 9. Join a kava ceremony 10. Take part in different paid and free activities at the resorts (sunset tube cruise, guided snorkeling, marine conservation, shark talks, beach hikes, night snorkel, games, kava ceremonies, Fijian language classes, etc.) 11. Watch the stunning sunsets on the beach 💸 How much to budget The budget heavily depends on when you visit, where you stay, and how you book. For example, the 8D7N Yasawa Wanderer inclusive package, including accommodation, activities, and transportation, is €790 if you stay in a dorm or €1,488 pp if you stay in a private twin room. You can also get by cheaper if you only get a ferry pass and choose cheaper homestays and fewer paid activities. - @heroiisa
