@georgiaintech: 📌 Save this for your next interview Sometimes you land in a role that isn’t the right fit and you realise quickly that you need to move on. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed. And it doesn’t automatically work against you. While job hopping can still raise questions for some recruiters, the market today is far more accepting of people making strategic moves to progress faster. The key is how you explain it. ❌ Don’t say “my boss is toxic” ❌ Don’t say anything negative at all There’s one message you must communicate clearly. Get this wrong and it can cost you the offer. Here’s what you need to demonstrate: 1️⃣ You made a genuine effort to make the role work internally 2️⃣ You’re moving towards a strong opportunity, not running away from a bad one Here’s an example of how to position it: “There’s been some internal change that’s shifted the scope of my role, and it’s no longer aligned with where I want to take my career. I explored a few internal options, but none were the right long term fit. When I came across this opportunity, it stood out because it allows me to apply my strengths in communication, problem solving and relationship building, make an impact quickly, and continue building commercially valuable experience.” Then redirect the conversation by asking: “Can you walk me through what top performance looks like in this role?” To summarise: • Don’t centre the conversation on why you’re leaving • Lead with what you’re moving towards • Focus on pull factors, not push factors If you’re serious about starting a career in tech sales and want to see whether it’s the right fit for you, comment TECH and I’ll reach out ✨ #interviewquestions #interviewquestionsandanswers #interviewprep #techsales #careeradvice
