Rewatched the show for the 4th time to look for foreshadowing moments to see if Agnes truly reciprocates romantic feelings for Becca. I’ve come to the conclusion that she does, but she is, as she puts it, “hiding from yourself and an expert at pushing things down”. I think so much abuse and trauma are actively happening, no matter where Gilead leads Agnes, Becca is her person and always will be. I don’t think Agnes is ready to come to terms with the fact that she can’t be the perfect Gilead wife & she’s in love with her best friend. Hopefully one day we’ll see Hannah free to be herself by all means.

Precisamente porque en esta temporada "se dijo tanto en tan pocas palabras", la T2 tiene la oportunidad perfecta para darle a Agnes el marco narrativo necesario para verbalizar y profundizar en esos sentimientos. El inmenso y sacrificial acto de amor de Becka en el episodio 9 y la profunda respuesta de Agnes en el episodio 10 demostraron que su lazo rompió todas las barreras impuestas por Gilead. No pedimos que la serie cambie su esencia distópica, sino que sea realista con la psicología de sus personajes: después de sobrevivir a tanta opresión a sus escasos 16 años, el mayor acto de rebelión y justicia poética sería permitirles encontrar su libertad y construir un futuro juntas.
