@embracingecho: The cries absolutely devastate me. Babies don’t understand. Halstie is starting to but how do you cope with this as a parent? I dislocated my jaw during this seizure. I didn’t include the entire seizure but I wanted to include the ictal cry. It happens because sudden muscle spasms force air out of the lungs and past the vocal cords. It is a known occurrence during Tonic-Clonic Seizures. I have temporal spread to focal and then bilateral tonic clonic seizures. This means the start of my “big seizures” may present with focal unaware seizures. I hope this advocates for families like ours. It’s not perfect but we try our best. When I feel okay, I try to snuggle Halstie and Payson and talk with them about it while we play. Ruben does a great job administering medication, filming for doctors, and helping the girls during situations like this. He’s only one person though and it’s not easy for anyone. I am switching seizure medications and I believe the lapse and switch in meds and time schedule triggered a seizure. #epilepsyawareness #epilepticseizure #seizuressuck #disabilityawareness
