Nobody withdraws from the Traditional IRA all at once, they withdraw funds each year as t 4% to 5% safe withdrawal rate. Yes, Roth IRA and Roth 401K are much better because they are tax free.

On fidelity as long as your 401k allows you can open a brokerage link account tied to the 401k, sell assets in the 401 and fund the brokerage account and you can then trade your own stocks with 401k money, tax free.
