what’s confusing is kids not knowing why they’re not LOVED

can validate this as our foster is not at all confused & she not only has two "sister moms" she'll stay with forever but she had 4 other foster moms before she was placed with us 😂

I might be wrong, but I would imagine this also helps you focus on the goal of family reunification more?

totally make sense - kids need stability, attention, and all their needs met. as long as they have their needs covered and environment is nourishing to them, in my opinion, they really don’t care much for anything else. as long as they can safely grow and develop. thats very awesome what you do! ❤️

Kids are kids, they really don't care as long as you're making them happy so clearly you're both doing a great job!

This also feels infantilizing to the kids. Kids aren’t stupid, they’re very capable of understanding things.

I think the foster care community has a lot more to worry about than a child having two more people who care about them. These people are the ones who have never been in foster care

Children find almost nothing confusing. They are so matter of fact about everything.

I agree. If two women are co-parenting, as long as it's a positive situation for them, they will be 100% fine with it.

Opposite of confusion. Imagine growing up knowing you have two women that solely combined their friendship for the purpose of loving & raising you. It’s absolutely beautiful. God bless you all.

I’m 98% sure that you could tell a young child that the other foster mom is a really smart fox that speaks English and they might have some questions but it’d all be judgement-free. Then they’d ask if you or the fox have any snacks or an iPad they could play on.
