well christians also believe that god has given humans free will which i think would include the ability to choose what to believe in, or else it wouldn't be completely free will

...what? Belief is indeed a choice, getting provided the right information for you to believe in something isn't. Also, the Bible says people who don't get the chance to do something that is normally required for salvation get a second chance in the afterlife if they're still good people (the purgatory, in which sinners are going to be forgiven and ultimately go to heaven).
