Thank you, Auntie, and God bless you for speaking up. My mother died in a hospital in Kumasi, and the experience was heartbreaking. Her ward was dirty, smelly, and full of cockroaches. Male and female patients were mixed together, so even when I washed my mother, the man next to her could see everything. The doctors never updated me unless I asked, and many of the nurses were rude and lacked empathy. When my mother was clearly dying, a nurse still tried to force me to leave because it wasn’t visiting time. I refused and stayed with my mother until her last breath. To make things worse, a nurse sent me to buy medication even though she had no right to prescribe it. Some nurses engage in unethical practices and take advantage of uneducated and vulnerable patients.I am grateful someone is finally speaking on TV about the poor quality of care. To any health worker who neglects patients, remember that God is watching and everyone will receive their reward on this earth.
