I was thinking of Piranesi right as you said “it might be a slow realization” and I can definitely see how Susanna Clarke did follow a traditional plot line, but obv did so in a much more literary manner

This makes me feel better about my new project, i was worried the inciting incident wasn’t dramatic enough because while it does step the character away from his normal, as a member of management within the company, his method of dealing with it is at least at first by just following the protocol of the working environment. And i was worried that would be too subtle of a change in direction from his normal.
