For that price you can get a pre-built PC with better performance. zero reason to buy this now. Rare L for steam

Don't worry, the next xbox/PS will be exactly $1500 to compete 🙄

I'm ngl. for something that is essentially a mini gaming PC, I'm surprised it's that low with his ram prices have skyrocketed. I mean literally, wtf were they supposed to do. The steam machine isn't a console they can put out for a loss, because there isn't a guarantee people will buy steam games. they can buy a steam machine and then exclusively play xbox games if they wanted. Not that someone would do that, but I see why the price is what it is. and I'm sure once ram eventually goes down, the price will drop as well

Stop comparing it to consoles. It’s a PC.

You literally need to pay 60+ a year just to play on Xbox. Not counting game pass. It’s literally not a bad price

My PC was over $3k. This is honestly a decent price for a good product. It’s not meant to compete in JUST the console space. It is a portable gaming PC you can use in your living room

So, it's actually cheaper than I was expecting. It is not a console, despite competing in the console market. I'll be grabbing a 2TB model with controller if I'm selected. I'm not mad at steam for the cost, I'm mad at generative AI.

This isn’t a Steam L. They’re releasing a gaming pc that seems like a console in a terrible market.

People seem dropping $1,000-2000 on phones with no issues, why is the GabeCube the problem here?

ya know considering you wouldn't need to pay for a monthly subscription that's not terrible you'd save money overtime if you pay for xbox or Playstation subscriptions monthly

If you're saying 1500 is too much, you've never built a PC with decent specs.
