Coming from a shy cosplayer/person, big vouch to go to those cosplay gatherings. I've met a select few from there that turned into now friends/moots from different states. And even if you don't make (actual) friends, they're just a fun way to participate in the community!

Thought I had some pretty cool online friends for a few months that were into the same fandom as me, met up with em irl for the first time at a con and they ended up beinggggg not very chill in person so just be careful with that 😭
