The exercise - Choose 5 character voices - Analyse where the vocal placement is. (Head, nose, throat, chest) - Analyse the sound (Airy, nasally, husky, resonant, punchy etc) - Once you’ve played around, vocal placement will become more evident, allowing you to access these parts of your voice. - Take a basic paragraph from a book, read it out loud and try to add more vocal colour whilst orating. Are you accessing new parts of your voice? What has changed? What is better/worse?
