I think Johannas story is so Deep and interesting to look into. For Johanna she didn’t only stuggle with the morphling but i belive the thought of the people she knew (like peeta, annie, Haymigch, katniss etc) getting a fairly good life building familys and new lives and then herself not getting any further makes it even harder since she might feel even more alone. Just a thought!

I think she's stronger than that. She went back to her district which deals with lumber, built herself a cabin in the woods somewhere and now lives a solitary, secluded, but peaceful life.

The cool thing about the end of this series is that she was free to go where she wanted, not where she had to. She wasn't being shipped to the capitol, back to her district, or hidden amon revolutionaries. She now has the ability to decide and she doesn't owe anyone her story anymore. I find it poetic that we don't know. She no longer has to be difened by her victor status

I honestly think it's a good thing that we don't know for the sole reason that everyone in the districts, most of all the victors, were monitored CONSTANTLY throughout their lives. It's how snow managed to take out everyone she loved. It reminds me of the Truman show in that, after it's over we have no idea what happened to him or how he lived his life because he wasn't being monitored anymore- he could just be free. I think the same goes for the victors that we don't see after mockingjay. We don't know what happened to them because for the first time in their lives they are truly free and unmonitored.

I low-key will never forgive Suzanne Collins for not writing an ending for johanna but this is my fantasy version: she misses finnick and soberly or druggedly goes to district 4. annie takes her in realizing that they both need what the other has. Annie needs johannas tough resilience and fighter spirit, Johanna needs Annie's gentle resilience and tender spirit. their friendship and raising the baby together heal each other and they learn to both accept, and forever love the family they have left. the baby and Annie teach johanna how to not fear water, but it is a battle hard won. she and Annie become plutonically the support system that Peete and katniss are to each other.
