Handstand Compression Drills You Can Do at Home 🏡🔥 No gym needed! Just your body, your breath, and your bed. 🏡 Train your press handstand right from home with five mindful compression drills designed to build strength, control, and body awareness. Move slowly, stay connected to your breath, and focus on creating lift from your centre. Each drill helps you balance strength with ease — guiding you toward that effortless press-to-float feeling. And remember conscious movement & proper alignment are key to foster that mind-body connection - quality reps will get you there faster. Aim for 6-12 reps of each movement, 1-3 sets. 1. Pike Leg Lifts: From a seated pike with hands beside thighs or slightly forward. Press through your palms, pull the belly in and up, and lift both legs off the ground as high as you can — even a few inches counts. Keep your spine long, shoulders away from the ears, and avoid leaning back. Move slowly and with control, lifting and lowering to build deep core and hip flexor strength. 3. Kneeling Straddle Press (Float from the Ground Up): Start kneeling with your hands on the floor beside your hips. Press firmly through your palms, engage your core, and lift your hips off the ground. As you rise, straighten your legs and open into a wide straddle, keeping shoulders stacked over wrists and ribs drawn in. Press down through the hands to feel the lift through your center — this is the start of your press. Move slowly and control the lowering. Even if your feet stay grounded, focus on creating that feeling of lightness through strength and breath. 3. Bed Press Negatives (Float from the top down) Handstand Compression Drill: Stand facing your bed and place your hands on the floor, shoulder-width apart and about 6–12 inches from the edge. Place your feet in a wide straddle on the bed behind you. Shift your weight forward into your hands, keeping shoulders stacked over wrists. Engage your core and hip flexors as you hinge at the hips, then slowly lower your feet from the bed toward the floor in a controlled negative. Keep the legs light and straight, land softly, and reset. 4. Egg-Pike Press – Place your hands on the floor and your feet on the bed behind you. Start in a compact egg shape — knees bent, hips low, core engaged. Press firmly through your hands, draw the belly in, and slowly lift your hips toward a pike position. Option to extend one leg for an added challenge. Keep shoulders stacked over wrists, avoid collapsing through the chest, and stay active through your fingertips for balance. Move with control and breathe ⚠️Stop if you have pain. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any exercise program. #yoga #mobility #stretching #workoutmotivation #motivation
