Watching young people get ghosted, strung along, and treated like they’re disposable by employers while adults scream “nobody wants to work anymore” is wild to me. These kiddos are paying attention. They see the lack of humanity. They see the exploitation. They see how productivity gets valued over people. And they’re questioning why we expect them to enthusiastically participate in systems that often don’t even treat them with basic respect. Maybe their resistance isn’t laziness. Maybe it’s awareness. Background is my weekend lineup with some other fall bottles. • Distilled: Indiana (MGP) • Aged: 10 years • Proof: 110.8 • Mashbill: High Rye blend (95/5 + 52/48 rye/corn) • Barrel: American Oak, non-chill filtered • Release: Limited annual release Nose Sweet and spicy balance — caramelized sugar, orange peel, rye bread, hints of leather and oak. Palate Bold and layered. Vanilla, brown sugar, clove, spearmint, and a touch of black pepper. The rye spice hits but it’s smoothed out by dark fruits and oak sweetness. Finish Long and warming. Baking spice, cocoa, and lingering oak tannins that keep it interesting. Overall This Sagamore 10 Year at 110.8 proof is really well done — rich, bold, and complex but still very drinkable. If you’re into other big ryes like Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye, Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye, or Jack Daniel’s Barrel Proof Rye, this one fits right into that conversation.
