Also ladies, just remember when women call men "performative" for liking these things, this is the same rhetoric MAGA dudes use to discredit men for being progressive and voting in your best interest. They say things like "no real man would vote for Kamala, its just performative cuz they wanna get in your pants or cuz they're gay"...so I'm just saying, if it were me, i wouldn't want to be associated with that culture. Keep that in mind.

It was just a reminder that what people SAY what they men to be like is mostly performative/virtue signaling. I’m an atypical masculine man. The strongest/strictest enforcers of the patriarchy and gender roles I’ve encountered in my life have always been women, not other men

esp because the term was originally used to talk about guys who fake their interests in order to get closer to women, but now its just used to mean any male who does anything gender non conforming
