@nytimes: Starbucks temporarily closed more than 2,000 locations in South Korea early on Monday to hold employee training on historical awareness and cultural sensitivity after a disastrous marketing campaign. #starbucks #southkorea
I think the wildest thing here is the fact that it was the Korean Starbucks marketing team that thought it was ok. Like the American Starbucks marketing had nothing to do with this.

What? The baristas were not the problem. It was their corporate side that created the campaign

Why did the employees have to take training when they didn't have anything to do with the ad?

Why are the onsite employees forced to do the training when clearly this decision came pretty high up the chain?

It was corporate who designed and green lit the project, not the baristas.

reminds me when the central US manager of the company I work for fell for an internal phishing test so we ALL had to take a 3 day long internet security training course
now we get 3 fake spam emails a month to make sure we arent just handing out company data.
