meh.... they did it wrong. should just be real ai characters that can create their own accounts and design theirselves before loging on forever. you could asign numbers to words and create a word tree out of the dictionary and traits and emotions and then have a seed generator and the number is the personality. Just give the AI access to the character creator. but guess it was 2019.

duuh, simple idea, no idea how they would patent that. just have a database with semi random char gen, another has their state/loc/etc. the hard part is the diversity in clothing and individual looks.

I always wondered why they didn't use a similar system to charecter creation where you chose hair, face, skin, height and then randomly pick one for a npc. that is pretty much what they are doing here but I feel like it could have been done a long time ago

Seriously this was their patent? We built this as a group project for a CS class in college in 2010, and we didn’t even get an A. This isn’t patentable there’s a billion pieces of prior art out there

Your gta online character model (mp_m_freemode for male and mp_f_freemode for female) can have their facial features and bodies randomized to create a unique npc each time, a few single player mods do this but this has existed for a long time

Generative AI can be used ethically and help creators and artists on background stuff like this, it’s when Ai takes over everything that it becomes an issue. We’ve had video game AI since the 1980s
