im not an expert but I think the fluid that is used in immersion cooling is dielectric fluid. so 1 and 2 are the same methods. closed loop still uses water, just less. dry cooling or air cooling is impractical at the scales they're talking about. im pretty sure most new system will be closed loop water cooled.

Not only do they not NEED to use water but they don’t NEED to use FRESH water. They refused to use salt water because then their machines would require more maintenance.

They’re building one in the philippines and that’s called PAX SILICA. We are a tropical country and our water system and electrical system is not at its best because it was passed down to the consumers to be paid. Our country cannot survive that data center and we dont need that

Data centres use the water to cool but it’s not like it keeps the resources….water evaporates and then returns to the earth as rain. See there is this whole cycle water regularly goes through lol
