@blueacregarden: Want more blooms from your roses? Deadheading is the secret! By removing spent flowers, you encourage your rose bush to redirect energy into producing fresh buds instead of forming seeds. Regular deadheading means more flowers, a longer blooming season, a healthier-looking garden, and fewer petals browning on your fresh mulch. Do you deadhead your roses regularly? What do you do with japanese beetles? They’re ruining my rose bushes 😭

So if I understand you correctly, cut above the first set of 5 or 7 leaves, whichever comes first?

How do I know my rose is dead?! I was giving a Davis Austin climbing rose stub and he said he was pretty sure it was dead but I ve planted it in a pot anyway.

This would be the same for hybrid tea roses?

Nate Nozzi :
Should we deadhead hybrid teas all at once? There’re always some stragglers buds that I don’t want to cut back but then the whole plant ends up lopsided. 😅

I’m constantly cutting my roses lol. My one rose bush goes crazy. I think it’s a climbing kind. I always have to cut her down. But she doesn’t seem to mind! She just grows more and more. Maybe I should get a trellis ?????

Why do some roses have five leaves versus seven? Is that just based on the variety?

What about knock out roses? I have self cleaning roses and I think they are so messy, but if they’re meant to deadhead themselves, I don’t want to prevent them from growing.
