@kongmountaintea: Why does the same tea taste so bad in this cup? 🍵 I tested a variety of teacups with the same tea — and the results genuinely surprised me. Material and wall thickness matter more than you’d think. And that jianshui clay cup? Not what I expected at all. What material is your favourite teacup? Drop it in the comments — I‘d love to hear! #tealover #gongfucha #slowliving #teacups #chinesetea
I've heard that Jianshui clay pairs well with raw Pu-erh tea; it helps to soften the bitterness.☺️

I tried to use a metal travel mug to carry my tea.. I hated it.. it gave it that metal taste.

I prefer porcelain so I can use the same tea set for different teas. Just like tea pets. Clay cups can absorb the oils from the tea, if your drinking one kind of tea this is great bc it enhances the flavor but I love trying new teas

A lot of biased things here... Better method: The operator draws the tea from each container using a clean food-grade syringe and drops it directly onto the blindfolded tester's tongue without touching their lips. This isolates the fluid dynamics completely without any physical or visual bias from the vessel. A really neutral and unbiased test.
