Exercise habits. Let me tell you what a good friend said to me recently. I was chatting on the phone to my friend, Dom (bloody lovely chap) and he said “before I go, I just wanted to tell you something”. He told me that although he didn’t really pay much attention to my first skipping (jump rope for our American friends) video, when I posted the second video he could tell how much I had improved and this inspired him to join in. So he picked an activity he had been neglecting and been meaning to get back into. And after a month of practicing he said he was already noticeably better. Four months ago, when I started the #60SecondMovement, it was in reply to someone who said they don’t know where to start. And I wanted to demonstrate that if you are terrified to begin something, doing even one measly minute can be great. NOT because one measly minute will transform your health overnight, OBVIOUSLY. But, one measly minute can build confidence and self-efficacy. If you see yourself improving it can inspire you to WANT to keep going. So I picked an activity I haven’t done since I was a child (skipping) and have been practicing no more than 1-2 minutes per day, on average. Am I going to become a world champion? No. But I can already tell that I am noticeably fitter and better at skipping than I was four months ago. So, I would like you to join in this free challenge. Pick ANY activity you are neglecting and want to get better at. Start with just one minute a day, and let’s build that habit over time. Let’s see where we are six months from now. #exercise #habits #habit #jumprope #jumpropechallenge #skipping #skippingrope
