It's important to understand the city of Clarkston is a TINY area. What people think of as Clarkston is mostly unincorporated and in the county.

A lot of flips and jacked up prices for sure. I go on walks around my house and I've seen them renovate and flip a lot of homes. Luckily I got my house cheap and def don't make that much lol

that was totally a flip, I'm pretty sure, at least, and it bums me out that houses that are affordable are scooped up by people with more money, some work is done and teh prices are doubled. in this little area, its making it unrealistic. 300k for a starter home is insane.

That’s a childhood friend’s old family home. That place was bad when they lived there in the 90s. I can’t imagine the foundation is any better now than back then!

Living in Clarkston it is definitely a town worth rooting into if it can be afforded. The community is wholesome and there is a lot great spaces and small businesses.

I’m a GenX and purchased my first home here in 2015. Our property value has doubled which is good but the downfall is higher taxes resulting in raised mortgage payment AND we can’t leave because if we wanted to upgrade we wouldn’t be able to afford it. So we’re stuck here in our tiny 2 bed 1 bath house. I’m thankful I have it though and will do everything to keep it. I feel bad for those that can’t even afford to rent. It’s ridiculous.
