A personal finance course should be required in every high school in the USA.

One financial statistic everyone should know is that only 2% of gamblers win anything.

My grandparents were salt of the earth. They saved so they could send all their children to college and university. My mother saved almost every extra penny she could. Unfortunately, she became a single working mother when I was just a few years old. So she always talked to me about budgeting, credit, balancing my checkbook and how loans work, making sure I always had enough money saved *just in case*. For the most part we live frugally. We bought used cars and paid them off, our home is paid off. We have no real debt to speak of and no student loans. Our daughter has no college debt either. While we don't live a fancy Jet Set lifestyle, we are very comfortable and have all that we need. Financial literacy did that.

How are we supposed to be financially literate when we don’t have any finances?

Financial literacy is something that everyone should know. It doesn't matter your economic position at the moment. it's about learning how to make it better

My assumption is those that have been following you for any length of time should get almost all the questions right.

Both our kids always knew that we lived within a budget and wanting something was very different than needing it. Credit cards are for convenience and not to finance purchases. They have thanked us several times over the years as they are on a good financial track as they've watched their friends live paycheck to paycheck and nothing to sow for it.

I took the test and it was not hard to do but it does require critical thinking. I failed at the the lottery test question but also because I never play the lottery.

the military has option to open a TSP but teaches nothing about it, nothing else regarding finances, I went in not having any financial literacy and learnt nothing there either. I was in 8 years with no TSP and didn't start one until I started working at federal government. I missed out on so much
