woman is a social category because gender is a social construct. female is a sex and that is irrefutable, same with male. to become a woman, you must 1. be an adult and 2. identify with femininity in some way that makes you feel like a woman. most females already feel this way. some males realize they feel this later in life as well.

Any philosophical attempt at this doesn't work because the aim is ideological rather than logical. A thing can't identify as another thing if it doesn't contain the essence of that thing. So most you can say is that they share human biology but we are a bimodal species, 99% of us are male or female so it is always just identifying with regressive social characteristics that are pretty meaningless. When women are really oppressed they are oppressed on the basis of sex. Look at Afghanistan, girls can't be educated and women can't walk outside and must be fully covered. None of those women could identify as men. Similarly, it is quite common for women's wombs to be rented for surrogacy. This then becomes the commodification of the female body in a commercial agreement. Many poor women are coerced into this because they lack options, this obviously isn't happening to men. We could go on and on. Trans ideology is basically misogyny 2.0, it says that a man's definition of what a woman is is superior to an actual woman.

You’re actually saying too much. The argument doesn’t need to be refuted by disputing the premises, because it isn’t logically valid in the first place. Even if both premises were granted as true, the conclusion still would not follow. At most, the premises support the weaker conclusion that womanhood cannot be defined by any single biological trait alone. But they do not entail that trans women are women. That conclusion requires an additional bridge premise explaining what makes someone a woman and showing that trans women satisfy it. So the argument can be dismissed at the level of validity before we even get into whether the premises are true.

Trans women are women because they (attempt to) adopt the social roles and presentation that’s been socialized on to the female sex. This was gender theory 101 when I identified strongly with trans activism but people only do circular reasoning now. Functionally, they are women in the same way that I’d have straight hair if I got a perm… which is not biologically.

because sex and gender are different, gender is a social construct and biological sex is something determined by hormonal levels and chromosomes, but saying this denys the existence of intersex people who differ from the “man” or “women” and the criterion is fitting the social/cultural norms of women, for gender, not biological sex, trans people know they cant change their biological sex thats not the point, its transitioning gender which is a social construct thats isnt the same as biological sense, and trans women do fit the criterion so these dont really matter

Female: No SRY gene. Male: SRY gene. Intersex: SRY gene: Male DSD. no SRY gene: Female DSD. That's it. It's not any more complicated than that. Intersex people are not some magical blend of sexes. They are medically still classified as either having a male or female DSD. No amount of medication will eliminate the SRY gene. No other characteristics or chromosomes configuration matters. Human sex is defined by the presence or absence of the SRY gene. How you dress, behave or whatever labels you create is 100% cultural.
