I know it was sad but this entire show was perfect from start to finish. The ending was absolutely perfect and showed that even when you have all that you want, it eventually is time to move on.

If you pay attention to the final episode and the last scene when the guy gets the letter that’s addressed to Michael, he goes to Michael’s door and knocks on it just to return some coupon book and if you pay attention after Michael says it’s so good to see you again, my friend and you look at what he’s wearing and his presentation is Chidi. He was reborn again. The wave returns to the ocean.

I think my favorite part of the good place is that ‘the good place’ isn’t really a place, it’s just time. Time with the people you care about, and not having anything but you decide to do with that time (there’s a strong chance I’m just paraphrasing a characters quote, it’s been a minute since I’ve watched this masterpiece)

The way I see it, the way they went out shows their growth. He made the decision to leave first, she made the selfless and mature decision to let go and stay for her. Beautiful writing
