Best hot pot: Liu Yi Shou, Chinese hotpot, Lets grill. Best AYCE: Tatsu, Lava, Baekjeong. Best Bun Bo Hue & Viet food: Co Do Hue. Best Banh Mi & Viet pastries: An Vat Edmonton. Best sushi: Japonaise Bistro, Izakaya Tomo. Best ramen: Midori, Kokoro. No best pho sorry - there is no northern Pho here in edmonton :(

I usually get my food and walk to the River Valley too. It’s one of my favourite Edmonton experiences. I’m so happy you at least experienced it for a second or two. 🥰

The Lingnan is an institution, you must try their dry spicy chicken!! White Rabbit ice cream is my favourite ice cream spot, they have three locations in the city.

Pho or Kuy Tev on 97st is amazing! It's Vietnamese/Cambodian. Their Cambodian spring rolls are a must! Also my favourite satay soup in the city.

Tonys pizza, I get the chef salad and margarita pizza with extra basil and the spicy oil on the side to drizzle. my husband loves the pescatore (clams, shrimp, and Anchovies baked under the cheese)

When I go to Edmonton, I set aside a day to go to Chinatown. NOBODY wants to come with me anymore. 🥺 The original Lucky Supermarket has a super cool backstory. Of course there are so many other great places as well. But each year I notice more and more places vacant and yes… sketchy is definitely the vibe. The city does acknowledge this and there’s a movement towards revitalization. I’d love to see it back to its former glory where people are walking and snacking down the streets comfortably, businesses are thriving, and children are playing and laughing freely. When I returned to my province, I emailed the Chinatown Transformation Collaborative to offer myself up as a volunteer next time I’m back. I’ve been visiting since I was a kid, so it’s pure nostalgia for me. Glad you found some gems!! 💞
