@leahswrrld: edit: i’m starting to get agitated by the amount of media dense tadc fans purposely missing my point, so i’m muting the comments for a bit. for the 500th time: i am NOT saying jax is the greatest written character of all time, nor am i justifying her actions. she’s a walking piece of shit. i’ve criticized her writing multiple times and i think her relationship with gender identity could’ve been handled way better. my issue is specifically with the argument that jax is bad representation because she’s a bad person and therefore reinforces stereotypes about trans women. trans people do not need to pass a moral purity test in order to exist in fiction. a trans character being abusive, misogynistic, manipulative, selfish, or otherwise terrible does not automatically make them bad representation. overlap with a stereotype is not the same thing as endorsing that stereotype. if your criticism is that the writing is rushed, poorly executed, relies too much on outside confirmation, or mishandles its themes, that’s a completely different conversation and one i’ve already said can be valid. you tadc fans lack the ability to read #transgender #jaxtadc #theamazingdigitalcircus #controversy #fyp
