The speed of light has nothing to do with light. It is just poorly named. Light, like gravity, neutrinos, etc., travel at the cosmological speed limit (C in the equation E=MC^2)

Interesting, but mass can't just "suddenly disappear". Clearly (unless I am mistaken), any event or force or power strong enough to make the Sun disappear would also impact the Earth in the process. So if the premise of the hypothetical is impossible anyway, how can we give any value or credence to the conclusion ?
