first Loki didn't know about the infinite stone in his weapon, and second I believe he couldn't do that because the way that the stone was... vision had the natural stone, Loki had it in a "container"

maybe it could and loki didn't know. the laser function was performed by beings created by the mind stone, so it stands to reason they would know more of how the stone works.

vision didnt laser thanos into two halves that was ultron in the vibranium body for vision. this was in a what if episode that was pretty much just ultron destroying everything

not the same stones and vision and the stone were fused beings they weren't separate from one another but loki is just holding the space stone this would mean vision has an entirely different understanding of infinity stones and a realm of use that only he could access with his stone
