@afaihere808: 🎉🏛️🔥 “SHAME ON YOU!”… Councilman Calls Out Management Over 40% Rent Increases Tonight’s Mt. Shasta City Council meeting was one for the history books. Emotions ran high as a councilman publicly challenged mobile home park management over a reported 40% increase in rents over the last 3 years, telling them, “Shame on you!” as residents shared concerns about affordability, fixed incomes, and the fear of being priced out of their homes. Some residents were so moved by his willingness to stand up and speak on their behalf that they were even calling him their “hero” after the meeting. 🙌 BIG NEWS… The First Reading PASSED! The Rent Stabilization Ordinance successfully passed its first reading and will return in approximately 30 days for a second reading and final consideration. For many families, seniors, and longtime residents, this isn’t just about rent… it’s about protecting homes, preserving community, and creating stability during uncertain times. 🏡 What Could This Mean for the Future? While this ordinance specifically addresses mobile home parks, it also raises an interesting question… Could policies like this one day help create a stable and predictable foundation for future affordable housing solutions, including Tiny Homes on Wheels communities? As Siskiyou County continues exploring innovative housing options, conversations about affordability, resident protections, and long term housing stability will likely remain an important part of the discussion. 💼 BIG NEWS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES We also connected with Anastacia Sprout, who is launching a 14 Week Business Program designed to help entrepreneurs, startups, and small business owners build stronger foundations and support systems.
