I do realism and I still draw a grid on my paper and on the picture to get proportions right like I was taught in art class many years ago. This is basically the same thing and both still take lots of talent to be able to finish the final product

You should never have to explain yourself. Art is art. Baking is an art and people use recipes 🤷‍♀️💕 I was always told I wasn't a "real artist" when I used graphite transfer paper to transfer my own images to canvas. I then went to art school and 90% of us did the same and the teachers actually endorsed it. So you do what you want and enjoy the process. I love your art btw 🥰
