Ive been thinking about this, the only way that he could have worded the wish to be morally correct would be if he had wished for a chance to show her how much he liked her, or if he wished that he was brave enough to tell her how he felt

the problem of the wish from a plot angle was the wording (confirmed several times),the moral problem was the intent of removing someones will.

Exactly love spells are black magic no matter how much you word it because it takes away others autonomy. The only better way he could’ve worded it, was to give himself the confidence to ask women out. Not make them like him. And the only mild excuse he gets is he didn’t know it was a real wish. But we’ve seen him find out and not care so that really shits on that excuse he’d likely still make the wish.
