the whole tipping thing personally is based on service and how much food was bought. of im at an expensive restaurant and we each only bought 1 plate (2 of us) ans an appetizer im not gonna go based on the price of food for my tip. if i ordered a lot of plates and thats why the price was that high then yes i will. just like doordash im not gonna pay extra in tip when the restaurant is 5 min away and i just so happened to order 50+ dollars worth of food. they will be tipped for the service they gave me cause they are doing a task i myself did not want but i am not tipping based on the price of my food

Jesus I knew tipping culture in America was bad but not THIS bad?! a 10 buck tip is pretty normal (even good) from where I live and now I feel horrible cause I was in new York for holidays and that was my usual tip!😭
