Teeya or Teej is a vibrant set of *Hindu monsoon festivals* primarily dedicated to Goddess Parvati and her union with Lord Shiva. It celebrates marital bliss, the arrival of the monsoon & nature’s greenery. The festivals are celebrated through fasting, singing, dancing, and applying henna etc.The word *Teej* roughly translates to "third" and falls on the third day after the new moon or full moon during the monsoon months.

We do celebrate teej in haryana, but it has nothing to do with mughals, its a tradition where the brother/family brings food/clothes/sweets for their daughters after she gets married. It’s widely celebrated in Haryana regardless of which community you belong to.

drishtijain154 :
Teeyan is much older than the Mughal period (1526–1857). It has roots in ancient agricultural and seasonal traditions of northern India, celebrating the arrival of the monsoon.

Teeyan da Mela (Punjabi: ਤੀਆਂ), often known as the Punjabi Teej, is a traditional, women-exclusive festival in Punjab that celebrates the onset of the monsoon season (Sawan), usually occurring in July-August.
