@not.your.boring.hr: "What's the point of appealing? They won't change their mind anyway." Maybe. But that's not the whole point. 👀 One of the biggest mistakes I see is employees skipping the appeal because they assume it's a waste of time. ⚖️ And let's be honest... Many appeals don't result in the original decision being overturned. But that doesn't mean they're pointless. 🚩 An appeal gives you the opportunity to: ✔ challenge factual errors ✔ raise procedural concerns ✔ highlight missing evidence ✔ explain why you disagree with the outcome ✔ create a clear record of your position Because sometimes the most important thing an appeal achieves is showing that you did not simply accept the decision. It documents your concerns and preserves them for the future. 👀 And occasionally, appeals do change outcomes. I've seen warnings reduced, dismissals overturned, and processes restarted because issues were identified at appeal stage. The question isn't: "Will they definitely change their mind?" It's: "Have I properly recorded why I believe the decision was wrong?" ⚖️ An appeal isn't just about changing the outcome. Sometimes it's about creating a paper trail and making sure your side of the story is formally on record. #creatorsearchinsights #hradvice #employeerights #disciplinaryprocess #employment
Absolute rubbish, appeal it’s not a second chance to HR or investigation officer to get it right. Just go to ACAS and then to Employment Tribunal. There is no law actually saying that you must apply. If the whole process was a shambles, don’t waste your time. It’s worth to take a risk of 25% deduction. And don’t listen to HR person advising about the Employment Tribunal

I submitted loads of evidence but they deemed it out of scope or grievance related. They combined 2 totally separate cases at one hearing. One of those cases was evidence from a greivance I raised against another. He retaliated and they did not investigate it. I was set up.

Appeals are a nonsense. I appealed and they didn’t do one investigation. It’s just a set up

If anyone listens to the HR professional advice about Employment Tribunal and the process please be aware that they are biased and telling only one side of story. Appeal is not obligatory and at times might be harmful and not wise for an employee. But these HR talking heads will try to convince you otherwise. There is no law making appeal obligatory. It’s just convenience for HR.
