My mother died from this illness when she was 45 years old. I watched society, my dad and the system use her insecurities against her. I saw her try to navigate the anger being thrown at her for trying her best, and i heard her cry herself to sleep. I tried to warm her up when I felt her cold body in the morgue. I was 20 years old. Child protective services has a document listing her worst moments as a mother and my dad got access to it because they were still legally married. I will never forgive the people who broke her.
