In less than 20 years, Mongolia transformed its paved-road network from a small system of about 2,600 km in 2007 to roughly 8,000–10,000 km by 2026. That means the country has built or upgraded around 6,000–7,000 km of paved roads, despite having one of the world’s lowest population densities and a harsh continental climate.
