this argument is based on the needs of power to convince those without it that seizing power from those who abuse it will not stop the abuse but continue it. the argument relies on the false assumption that all taking a life is universally negative in an equal moral sense in all situations therefore making one death a gateway to more deaths because the moral equivocation renders number of deaths an inconsequential factor. this assumption is, as previously mentioned, false.
