Huê is great for travellers who are interested in Mausoleums and history. Huê is also great for night photography lovers. There are a few locations where your tripod will be useful. I suggest the Imperial Citadel at night as you will get stunning night shots with your camera. Close to Truong Tien Bridge there is a woman who sells delicious fried rice at night. Her area was always busy when I was there. There are beautiful parks along the river for night picnicks and long walks. If you visit Tu Duc Mausoleum be there as soon as they open, and just 10 minutes away on foot you will visit Bunker Hill. How to get there? Walk past Tu Duc. Go up hill. You will come to a stop. On your right, you will see the incense village. Then go LEFT. Walk for about 5 minutes. You will see a trail and washroom on your RIGHT. Take that trail. As you pass the washrooms go left. US soldiers built bunkers to control the Perfume River. Besides being a beautiful park, the bunkets are still there. The city is safe at night. Every night I walked from downtown to my hostel after 11pm, it was safe and peaceful. Friendly citizens!
