we completely appreciate that support workers and other professionals need to be registered in some form. I'm praying that the support workers who are independent ABN sole traders can still register in some form, under some basic tier program but obviously not to the extent of the major organizations,just more of a basic registration to ensure all the essentials, checklists are verified, et cetera. Having said all that, based on the new legislation that has just come out and appears to be starting from January 1, 2027 ....the way they have reduced the sole traders' wages by 10% is ridiculous and astronomical. Ultimately the vast majority of us are sole traders, the ones that they classify as unregistered. However most of us are happy to register in some capacity but we can't afford $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 to register. We need some kind of basic tier program to work with. What is most scary and pathetic is basically if a support worker is working hard, earning $100,000 a year under the new legislation, they will have a $10,000 pay cut, all because they are not registered. We are happy to register in some capacity, on some basic tier, but we should not be scared by the government. The government is literally scaring away thousands and thousands of support workers across the country because they're not allowing us to register first. If we fail to register in some capacity then fair enough, drop the rates. If we are willing to register, give us the capacity to register, give us the facilitation to go online and register all our credentials, etc. I don't think most support workers realise that they are going to literally have a 10% pay cut and not just that, it's going to be permanent. There's no inflation based on the current so-called legislations. This is a massive disaster and it's going to scare away thousands of ABN holders over the coming years. We just want to have the ability to register in some capacity. We are happy to conform but they've literally brought out this new legislation before even giving us the ability to register.

Its a bit unfair since Dietitians are also allied health professional and helpful for manaing complex nutrition or helping with feeding strategies if someone has afrid etc would have thought plan management would go down 🙃
